Context
As part of a freelance mission with Mayasquad, I contributed to the development of Print Your Friends, a mobile app designed to enhance guest interaction at events by allowing them to act as photographers. Born from a successful crowdfunding campaign on Ulule, the app addresses challenges in event photography such as high professional costs, long waiting times for edited photos, and logistical difficulties in distributing photos after an event. The goal was to provide a simple, cost-effective way for event guests to capture and print their own photos instantly via a connected printer.
The Print Your Friends app offers an easy-to-use solution where users scan a QR code to connect their smartphones to the event’s printer. They can take a photo, apply event-specific themes, and send it to print instantly. Additional features include retrieving photos from their phone gallery, a countdown timer for photo capture, options to confirm or retake photos before printing, and the ability to choose the number of prints. This not only personalizes the photography experience but also eliminates the need for hiring a photographer while ensuring instant gratification.
A fun and interactive experience for event guests, who can instantly capture and print memories.
Seamless, real-time photo printing, with up to 350 prints available during an event.
Customization options allow guests to tailor the photos to the event’s theme and print multiple copies for distribution.
The app boosts engagement and adds a memorable, participative element to any event.
