Context
In the first year of my master’s program, we developed a mobile application called Too Good Tonight, designed to simplify party planning for friends. The application aims to eliminate the logistical hassles often associated with organizing social gatherings, allowing users to focus on enjoying their time together. Users can manage guest lists, check availability, set budgets, and gather preferences for restaurants, all in one convenient platform.
Too Good Tonight offers a comprehensive suite of features that streamline the party planning process:
Guest Management: Users can easily add and manage guests, ensuring everyone is included in the planning process.
Availability Tracking: The app allows guests to indicate when they are available, making it simple to find a suitable date and time for the gathering.
Budgeting: Users can discuss and set a budget for the event, helping to avoid misunderstandings and ensure everyone is on the same page.
Preference Gathering: The application provides a way to collect opinions on preferred venues and activities, allowing users to tailor the event to their friends' tastes.
This user-friendly interface encourages collaboration and communication, transforming the often tedious planning process into a fun and engaging experience.
The development of Too Good Tonight aimed to create a solution that not only simplifies logistics but also enhances the social experience of gathering with friends. Key expected outcomes included:
Time Savings: By streamlining the planning process, users can save valuable time that can be spent enjoying each other’s company.
Increased Engagement: With all planning details in one place, users are more likely to engage their friends in the planning process, fostering a sense of community.
Positive User Feedback: Through user testing and feedback, we aimed to identify areas for improvement and ensure that the app meets the needs and preferences of its target audience.
