Student work
Context
During my last year of study I worked on Trekeeper, a mobile design to helps novice hikers to optimize their practice with personalized advice and tools for organizing their equipment.
Profile customization
Users complete their profile by entering their age, experience in the field and general level of sporting ability.
List your equipment
They list the hiking equipment they have, giving their characteristics and specific features. They can create categories to organize their equipment.
Plan your treks
You can then plan your next treks, specifying the conditions: number of days roaming, whether or not to spend the night in a refuge, altitude difference, time of year...
Personalized experience and recommendations
Finally, thanks to all the information previously transmitted by hikers, the application is able to provide recommendations on what they should or shouldn't take on their trip.
Here, for example, the user has indicated that he will sleep outdoors during his hike, but has not included a tent in his list of equipment. Trekeeper explains why he's missing this equipment, and then suggests he consult a guide to choosing a tent. The guide will contain information to help him choose his new equipment according to his profile and plans.
This student project allowed me, throughout my master’s program, to develop a viable product ready for market launch. Beyond product design, my coursework provided me the opportunity to gain skills in creating a financial plan, a marketing plan, and a communication strategy, giving me a comprehensive view of bringing a product to market.
